Top 5 Autumn/Winter 14/15 Coats
September is treating us quite well, weather wise at the moment, but I’m sure that will change soon and that means the hunt for the perfect coat has begun. There is a great selection out there at the moment so it was quite hard to chose my top 5 but here they are.
I’m not usually a fan of pink, but this coat has got me a little obsessed. I love the length of the coat and the zip fastening. The shearling collar gives the coat a less girly edge making it more wearable. This would look great with jeans, or over a dress for the evening. As it comes in under £60 this would make a great extra coat to pull out when a flash of colour is needed.
& Other Stories always bring out a beautiful collection of coats, and this year they haven’t disappointed. I adore houndstooth as a print (I have a shirt, trousers, scarf and socks to justify this statement) and this coat needs to be part of my collection. I really like the dip hem at the back and the popped collar. This would be a great throw on over jeans for those lazy Sundays, brunching and wandering around the winter markets.
Zara is always a go to shop when it comes to investing in a winter coat. Quality for the price point is second to none in my opinion. I love the beautiful blue colour of the coat and the deep v neckline. The brushed finished to the coat gives it a more casual finish, meaning you can dress it up or down. It has a 52% wool composition meaning it will keep you super warm.
Dahlia is one of my favourite brands, I love their Carnaby store, it’s like a treasure trove of beautiful items. I really love the print of this coat, and it looks so warm. I usually buy oversized coats a size down as I’m not slim enough to pull off the baggy look. I think this would look great with thick black tights and ankle boots. It’s currently on pre-order but selling out quickly.
Dunster coats are hot stuff this season and of course ASOS have got it spot on. The length of this coat is perfect for heels and for dressing up any kind of denim. A classic black coat should be part of your wardrobe, it’s the essential item for those “I don’t know what to wear days”. This would also look great with a blanket scarf hung round your neck too.
